Frankincense

Olibanum

Family: Burseraceae

Medical use: asthma, ulcerative cholitis, crohn, rheumatoid arthritis, wound healer

Parts: resin, contains gum and a essential oil, harvested from scratched stem.

Side effects:

  • Can cause neusea, acidity in stomach, reflux, loss of flavour
  • Use under doctors control if you have gastritis or reflux
  • Can cause alergic reaction even when touched
  • Can cause miscarry by pregnancy!

Drug interactions:

  • Can interact with many kind of drugs, dont use when using any drug.

Warnings:

  • Not use under 12 age.

How to Use:

Internaly:

Asthma: Resin Extract (%60 boswellic acid): 300-400mg, 3 times a day. Ulserative cholitis Resin extract(%37,5 boswellic acid): 350-400mg, 3 times a day. Crohn: Resin extract: 1200mg, 3 times a day, max 8 weeks. rheumatoid arthritis: Resin extract: 400 mg, 3 times a day.

Externaly:

(Boswellia Carterii)

Resin traditionally used as ointment to heal wounds.

In China, Iran, Indiai middleeastern and some tropical cultures its used intense. Important part of ayurvedic medicine. It seems to be able to act antiinflamatory and antitumor due to clinical research.
