SOLIDAGO VIRGAUREA L

(European) Goldenrod, Woundwort

Family: Asteraceae

Medical use: İnflamation by uriner system, diuretic, protective against uriner and kidney diseases, albuminuria (removing albumin protein in ure as an kidney problem), anuria and oliguria (lack of ure), cystitis, aphtha, eczema

Parts: Herb, execpt root

Side effect:

  • No side effect in recommended dose. Rarely can cause some alergic effects.

Drug interactions:

  • Can cause too much loss of water when used with diuretic drugs

Warnings:

  • Not use under 12 age
  • Asteraceae sorts can be alergic
  • If any oedema due to heart or kidney disease, dont use.

How to Use:

Internaly:

İnflamation by uriner system, diuretic, protective against uriner and kidney diseases, cystitis:

Tea: 3-4g grinded herb, add 150 ml boiled water, brew 10-15min, filter. Max 4 times a day.

Tea: 2 turkish tea spoon of herb, add 200ml water, heat untill boiling, brew 2-3min and filter. 3 times a day.

Powder of dry leaf and flower: 6-12g a day, splited in 3 portion

Tincture (1:5, %45 ethanol): 0,5-2ml a day, spileted in 3 portion

Eczema, albuminuria:

8g grinded dry herb, add 200ml water, boil 5min than brew 10min, filter. 2 times a day.

anuria and oliguria:

6 turkish tea spoon of grinded dry herb, add 400ml of water in room temperature. Let brew 8hours. Split in 2-3 and get through in one day. Should be prepared by night for next day.

Externaly:

aphtha:

25g grinded dry herb, add 500ml water, boil 10min, let brew 8-10hours, filter. Gargle with it, prepare daily

Word ‘virga’ means in latin ‘wand’, and ‘aureus’ means golden.

Kazakh’s are using traditionaly its tea to treat pain by kidneys and seeds of some varietys of plant have been used by native Americans as antivenom by snake bites.

Content: phenolic compounds are considered to be most valuable. Flavonoids (hyperoside, rutin, and astragalin), polyphenolic acids (rosmarinic and chlorogenic). Rutin was the main compound in the flavonoid fraction. rosmarinic acid was higher than the content of chlorogenic acid
